Sharing My Knowledge On Cricket

Kia ora bloggers in Te Ngahere today we learnt cricket.

I had never done cricket before so I was interested to see how to play, we practised doing some basic hits first.

Mark S and I were in a group, I was excited because my buddy gave me the first hit. After we had practised enough we went into a quick game of speed cricket. Speed cricket is when the game goes faster than normal but the tricky thing is if you didn't get to the wickets as a batter  in time you would miss and the ball would have a chance to hit the wickets. If the ball hits then your bat would be out, if you had one bat left and the ball hits the wicket you and your team would be out and it would be a swap over.

I really enjoyed this activity because I got an awesome catch and it was exciting seeing who could hit the furthest.

Have you ever played a game of speed cricket?

Amazing Athletics

Kia ora in Te Ngahere we have been doing amazing athletics.

The activities we have been doing are long jump, high jump, shot put, sprints/relays and discus.

The first day of athletics I was meant to be doing long jump but we had to play flies because the long jump pit hadn’t been built.

I got into the last four people but got out because I missed the next step by a little bit.

I really enjoy doing athletics because i’m getting faster and better at the activities.

Have you done athletics before?\

Fun At The Farm

Kia ora bloggers in the two weeks off school my family went to the Farm.

You’re probably wondering where and what the farm is, it is this massive farm with motorbikes and horses that you can pay to ride them, plus a shop where you can buy drinks and homemade bliss balls. It is located out the back road of Russell if you ever want to go.

When we arrived there, my sister and mum went to see the horses while dad and I went on the motorbikes.

I never knew how to ride a motorbike before so this was my first time doing it, so I used a little bike. The simplest part was learning to sit close to the front and not to far back. My instructor said that I was a really quick learner and we could come anytime.

Have you ever been to the Farm?
