Scavenger Hunt

Kia Ora yesterday in Te Ngahere we did a scavenger hunt outside around the whole school.

My group was Mark’O, Mikaire, Calais and I. We had an idea of how to try to get it done nice and quick so we cut the piece of paper in half and when we could go finding the stuff me and Mark’O went and Mikarie and Calais went in separate directions.

Mark’O and I had to find 3 different types of leaves, something brown, The highest point in the school and more objects. As soon as we thought we were finished we ran to the front of the school and asked if we finished, but we had a non smooth object and we had to go onto the field and we got one and ran back. We ended up coming 5th and I really enjoyed doing it. Have you ever done a scavenger hunt?

Kia Ora in Te Ngahere we did a trick-shot and we had to get a ping pong ball into a cup but we had to include cardboard and a bounce. My group was Dale,Mikaire,Calais,Mark’S and me.

We started on the playground because we thought that we had a really good chance of getting it into the cup.

It took us ages but we got it in after a while and we did not get it in until the next day when we changed spots.

We moved onto a set of steps and I went in and got some more cardboard and i found 2 the same size so we made a downwards ramp with a bump so it jumps and into the cup. When we asked for one of the teachers to come video it, the ball did not want to go into the cup and we got a video of it going off the rim onto the ground. Most of the things that didn’t go to plan was that we all had different ideas so we did not know which one to use. What did go right was that we had the right angle but the wind would get in the way and blow the ball away from the cup.
Well even though we didn’t get it in it was really funny having all the idea’s.

Have you ever done a tricky trick-shot?

Gastly Gingerbread.

We are learning to identify maths in the world around us with our maths eye’s. Yesterday we tried to see what we could identify with our math’s eyes. So we had to see what we saw with a photo of gingerbread men. I saw quite a lot of stuff that I thought I wouldn't have been able to see! Some of them had crooked buttons some had weird hairdos, some had stripes of chocolate but all of them had chocolate shoes. What made me work hard today was because I was kind-of looking forward to coming to school today. Have you got good maths eye’s?

Terrific Tennis

Kia ora at 1:00 pm till 2:00pm My mum (Tracey),Grace (My Sister) and me went to play tennis at the local tennis court!
So we got our racquets and headed down at 12:58 and we started as soon as we got there…. But we hadn’t played in ages so we were doing hits out to the side and over the fence.
SO I went out to the brick wall and tried hitting as close to the crack which is in the middle. After that Grace said “I want a go” so her and I swapped over and I did it with my mum and we did about 10 tops hits to each other.
When our time was up we started hitting it against the wall and I went and tried to find one of our balls I thought I found it but it was neon green ball that wasn’t ours I think someone dropped it by accident.

Blog you later!

Marvellous Monday

Kia ora on Monday mum Grace and I went to “Whangarei” to get Mum’s seat belt fixed I was excited because I finally got to go out of Russell (I was kinda getting sick of here!)

We left at 9:35 to catch the ferry over to Opua and then to Kawakawa
once we got there we had to go find somewhere to sit and have lunch
so we went and tried but one of us didn’t want to cross the road
because we did not know we were allowed to! so we listened to them
but they wanted to listen to us now. So we sat and had lunch and
played
some games until we got a message that we had to go get our car.
On the way back we were driving and we thought we would have
gone
past a checkpoint but we didn’t for some reason?

Well that was kinda fun? I was just happy to get out of Russell

Choc Chip-Cookies

Kia ora yesterday my mum and I made choc chip cookies and extra dough.
Before we started I had to wash my hands really really good and then make the dough(I had never made the dough before!). I had to multiply the recipe by 4x so we had some extra dough left over so I could make some more later.

After a while of mixing with my hands I got a vomit texture so I kept mixing until I got a doughy feel and add the choc-chips into the mixture!

Once I put them in the oven we started to wonder what it would look and taste like.
But man did they taste good I thought I was in heaven they had crispy type rims and nice soft inside and enough choc chips.

Next time I may put a flavor inside the mixture. Have you ever made mouth watering cookies?
